CLAY RESTAURANT AT THE GARDINER MUSEUM

Client: The Food Dudes and Gardiner Museum

Toronto, Canada

INSPIRED BY THE MUSEUM’S VAST COLLECTION OF CERAMIC ART, THE DESIGN TAKES CUES FROM THE PROPERTIES OF CLAY AND THE PROCESS OF CLAY-MAKING. A REENVISIONING OF THE INTERIOR DETAILS ACTS TO ACCENTUATE THE BUILDING’S ARCHITECTURAL FEATURES AND HARMONIZE THE SPACE. ADAPTABLE FURNITURE AND FLEXIBLE LAYOUTS FACILITATE SMOOTH TRANSITIONS FROM RESTAURANT SERVICE TO SPECIAL EVENTS; CREATING A REMARKABLY VERSATILE VENUE.
